LONDON.- Tate today announced its Tate App is now available from the App Store. The release of the app coincides with the 10th Unilever Series Commission for Tate Moderns Turbine Hall and was inspired by the latest large-scale installation to take over the space. The app will offer iPhone and iPod touch users an interactive, immersive interpretation of the epic work How It Is by Polish artist Miroslaw Balka. Tate has worked with Oscar-nominated production company Nexus and interactive directors Champagne Valentine to create an app that brings the mysterious, dark world of Balka alive and highlights Balkas inspirations such as black holes, Noah’s Ark and visions of hell. The app allows iPhone and iPod touch users to move around a 3D world using the innovative Multi-Touch user interface and tap to trigger audio and visual content.
