New Works Produced by Art & Language Open at Lisson Gallery

LONDON.- Lisson Gallery presents an exhibition of new works produced by Art & Language over the past year, including the major installation “Portraits and a Dream”. Art & Language’s earliest works date from before 1968, when the two terms ‘Art’ and ‘Language were first adopted as the name of an artistic practice. This coming together recognised a range of intellectual concerns and artistic expedients occasioned by the collapse of authority, by the mid 1960s, of those individualistic protocols which go under the name of Modernism.
