SYDNEY.- It is fast becoming your last chance to see images that are literally out of this world. The exhibition From Earth to the Universe at the Powerhouse Museum – where visitors can take a breathtaking journey through our galaxy and beyond – will close on May 30. Through photos and objects the exhibition showcases the beauty and mysteries of the universe. It reveals how the telescope has expanded our knowledge and vision since Italian scientist Galileo Galilei first looked through one 400 years ago. The spectacular recent images of the sky have been collected by astronomers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics, complemented by a range of Australian images emphasising our Southern Hemisphere location sourced by renowned astrophotographer Dr David Malin.
