Anna Wintour Becomes an Elective Trustee of The Metropolitan Museum of Art


NEW YORK, NY.- Anna Wintour has been named an Elective Trustee of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, it was announced by James R. Houghton, the Museum’s Chairman. Ms. Wintour’s election took place at the May 10 meeting of the Board. “Anna Wintour’s tireless work on behalf of the Museum has transformed the Costume Institute Benefit, which has long been referred to as the ‘Party of the Year,’ into something much more,” Mr. Houghton commented. “This annual event, now more than ever, is the main source of funding for the operations and activities of The Costume Institute year-round, including the care and display of its stellar collection of more than 35,000 costumes and accessories, now the largest and most comprehensive costume collection in the world.
