FAAM is pleased to present its spring auction schedule which will feature two back to back auctions on April 27, 2013 and May 2, 2013. The first, a traditional auction of important paintings and sculptures, will take place on April 27th, 2013 at FAAM’s Wynwood location and the second will be an auction of an estate and important 20th Century design that will take place on May 2nd at a mansion on the prestigious and exclusive Star Island.
As for the first of these two auctions on the 27th of April at 3:00 pm, FAAM, llc. hosts another impressive auction of fine art in the Magic City. Following the example and meeting the standard of preceding auctions at FAAM, this sale of Important Paintings & Sculptures offers an impressive and wide array of works from some of the most important artistic movements and schools; such as Modern, Impressionist, Contemporary, Latin American, and Russian art. This section of the sale will feature artists such as Horacio de Sosa Cordero, Inka Essenhigh, and Donald Baechler. As for the Modern and Impressionist section of the auction, FAAM will present a myriad of notable masters such as Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, Jacques Villeglé, Bernard Buffet, and Marsden Hartley. The artists that will comprise the Russian section of the sale include but are not limited to Aleksei Petrovich Bogolyubov, Konstantin Alexeievitch Korovin an d Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazofsky. The sale will conclude on a high note with the impressive Latin American section of the auction featuring masters such as Wifredo Lam, Claudio Bravo, Mario Carreño, Vik Muniz, and Carmelo Arden Quin.
The second auction in the spring schedule on May 2nd is a ‘cannot miss’ opportunity for all Miami natives. The sale will start with an auction of the entirety of the impressive wine cellar. FAAM will present a selection of 500 bottles of some of the world’s most well-known reds, whites, and roses in a myriad of sizes; 750 ml, 2 liters, 6 liters. Most notably, FAAM will auction off a magnum of Château Margaux 1999, grand cru classée and one 6 liter bottle of Romanée-Saint-Vivant, 2002. The sale will continue with a collection of exotic taxidermy animals as well as an assortment of paintings in the Orientalist style; artists such as John Seerey-Lester, Harold Wood, Antonio Maria Fabres Y Costa and Anthony Gibbs will be presented at the hammer. After the paintings section, fine jewelry, watches and precious objects will follow. Names such as Cartier, Hermes, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari are just a few of the presti gious designer brands that will be featured in this section of the sale. FAAM does not stop here, the sale continues with an opportunity to buy some masterfully crafted and designed period pieces that speak not only to the countries in which they originated, but also a level of craftsmanship that is hard to find in our contemporary culture. This section of the sale boast luxurious pieces of furniture designed by the likes of William Camp, Duncan Phyfe, and Oscar Bach. One of the highlights of the furniture section is the George III style mahogany and inlaid breakfront bookcase, circa 1785 as well as An Ormolu and bronze mantle clock by Charles Voisin. Another feature of this sale is the magnificent wood dining table. In addition, this sale boasts an impressive selection of XX design and outdoor furniture by Jean Royère and Alberto and Diego Giacometti.
