Sotheby’s to Sell The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art

LONDON.- Sotheby’s London announced that on Wednesday, November 3 and Thursday, November 4, 2010 it will present for sale The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art. The two-day single-owner sale of approximately 400 lots will offer a collector’s unique vision of the innovation and diversity that has characterised British Art over the last 60 years: beginning with the work of the ground-breaking British artists active in the years immediately after the Second World War and also including examples by a new generation of artists who are still working in Britain today. Prices will range from £100 to £350,000 – making the sale accessible to all – and the sale is expected to total in the region of £4 million. The proceeds of the sale will go towards the founding of The African Arts Trust, a charitable organisation that Mr Devereux is in the process of establishing and which will be devoted to supporting the art
