Sotheby’s London sale of European paintings estimated to bring in excess of £11 million


LONDON.- Sotheby’s sale of European Paintings on Tuesday, 22 November, 2011 will bring together some 242 works comprising Spanish Painting, The Scandinavian Sale, The Greek Sale and German, Austrian and Central European Paintings, and encompasses prime works by Sorolla, Hammershøi, Peterssen, Egger-Lienz, Moralis, Ralli and Sykora. The auction is estimated to bring in excess of £11 million. The Scandinavian Sale will be headlined by three paintings by Vilhelm Hammershøi and a superb selection of works by leading Norwegian artists.
