Westmont Museum of Art to Organize Symposium to Attract Art Collectors

SANTA BARBARA, CA.- “The Discerning Eye: An Art Collector’s Symposium” gathers art critics, dealers and collectors from across the country for an all-day educational event at the Westmont Museum of Art on Saturday, March 12. The event is open to the public and offers practical insight for both novice and experienced art collectors. The symposium, which begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m., will be held in Porter Theatre adjacent to the Adams Center for the Visual Arts. Event tickets are $100 and include museum membership ($50 for current members), and are available by calling (805) 565-6162. Gregory S. Hedberg, director of European paintings and sculpture at Hirschl and Adler Galleries, New York, will open the day with a talk about collecting European art.
