Tomer Aluf, David Hornung, and Vithya Truong at Flowers

NEW YORK, NY.- Flowers presents an exhibition of three extraordinary artists, Tomer Aluf, David Hornung, and Vithya Truong. The show will run from June 30th through July 31st 2010. Tomer Aluf presents a group of paintings triggered from news stories, memories and false rumors. Utilizing a method of erasure instead of traditional rendering, Aluf depicts feelings of anxiety and violence in his works. Rather than enslaving the paint to his initial ideas, Aluf often makes mistakes during the creative process, thus forcing the viewer to reassess conventional standards of “good painting” and artistic beauty. Aluf was born in Israel but currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. His work has been shown at Moti Hasson Gallery, NY; Gordon Gallery, Israel; and Hotel Pupik, Austria.
