OSRAM Exhibits a New Acquisition by the Berlin-Based Artist Katja Eckert

MUNICH.- The new exhibition, which is comprised of works from the company’s collection, focuses on the work “Echo,” a new acquisition by the Berlin-based artist Katja Eckert. The pair of images reflects the collection’s interest in the dialogue between painting and photography. Various methods of approaching and appropriating reality are concealed behind the seemingly media-specific subject matter. The nature of the images is a fundamental aspect of this work by Katja Eckert, who was born in 1976 in Rüsselsheim. Her art confront us with photography’s promise of reality although they are somber and mystical and hence impermeable. The images are actually digital drawings that were created on a computer using a photo editing program and then printed on photographic paper.
