MacDougall’s Works on Paper Auction Set New World Records

LONDON.- MacDougall’s Works on Paper Auction raised over 1.1 m pounds on December 1st, setting new record prices. The top lots went several times higher than their pre-sale estimates. The cover lot 13, Nubian with a Waterpipe by Michail Zichy sold four times its estimate at £162,000 (against an estimate of £40,000) and lot 18, Winter in Jukki by Nikolai Dormidontov sold for more than three times the estimate at £74,000 (against estimate of £20,000); it is also a new world record price for this artist.
