First mid-career retrospective in U.S. of the work of Rineke Dijkstra opens at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- From February 18 to May 28, 2012, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art presents the exhibition Rineke Dijkstra: A Retrospective, the artist’s first midcareer retrospective in the United States. The exhibition is co-organized by SFMOMA and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York. The San Francisco presentation is organized by SFMOMA Senior Curator of Photography Sandra S. Phillips. This is the most comprehensive museum exhibition to date of the artist’s oeuvre, the first major Dijkstra exhibition organized by an American museum, and the first solo exhibition of her work in San Francisco.
